Acquiring Common Knowledge from Web Volunteers Description The Learner system is a framework for social knowledge collection. While it was deployed, Learner collected more than 600,000 facts from volunteer contributors about common knowledge. More --> Status Research on Learner proceeded until 2005. More --> Research The research conducted in Leaner includes: 1) analysis on quality of knowledge, 2) user interface design to collect structured knowledge, 3) techniques to maximize the breadth of contributions as well as the automated reasoning they enable, and 4) incentivizing contributors.
